Illuminating India is a season of exhibitions and events that celebrates India’ s contribution to science, technology and mathematics. At its heart are two free major exhibitions: 5000 Years of Science and Innovation and Photography 1857 – 2017. Respectively they present a kaleidoscopic history of scientific breakthroughs in India and a unique photographic survey

This exhibition will reveal the story behind the creative partnership of A. A. Milne and E. H. Shepard and the factors contributing to the phenomenal success and enduring popularity of Winnie the Pooh. Designed for both children and adults, visitors will be led on a multi-sensory journey to rediscover these classic books such as discovering language as a child, and inspiring creativity with drawing. Highlights include the real-life personalities and relationships that created Pooh, including Christopher Robin’ s makebelieve with his toys and the collaboration between the genius of Milne as author and Shepard as talented illustrator.

Living With Gods: Peoples, Places and Worlds Beyond // THE BRITISH MUSEUM // until 8th Apr
This exhibition will include everyday objects relating to world faiths, traditional indigenous, archaeological and modern civil practices. It will include intriguing pieces from the end of the last Ice Age that depict beings that do not exist in nature, to familiar objects of everyday practices of all periods – including a remarkable 18thcentury replica of a Hindu ceremonial chariot of the kind pulled from a temple to reveal deities during festivals, posters relating to Soviet scientific atheism, and a Chinese badge celebrating‘ Mao’ s mangoes’ in an extraordinary example of 20thcentury veneration.
