• Meet Vunderbar the Wizard, in the Discovery room telling spooky
stories and singing scary songs (Mon–Fri).
• Cauldron Cookery Courses for Kids with Effel Fartwaffer (weekends).
• Wiley Wolf Productions presents Pirate Island, a Swashbuckling
Adventure for all!
• Are you brave enough to join in The Devil's Pig Race?
And a daily fancy dress competition before The Devil’s Pig Race only
for the kids!

The cells and old
magistrates court hold a
unique collection
including the archive of
the Borough Police, sea
bathing & bathing
machines, the 1815 arrival
of paddle steamers,
Cobb’s Brewery, the Mods
& Rockers infamous
skirmish, Punch & Judy
and donkeys on the
beach. There are exhibits
about Margate in wartime,
Roman-British history, Dr
Daniel Jarvis’ Wooden
Jetty of 1824 and Eugenus
Birch’s Iron Jetty of 1857, alongside unique paintings, prints and
engravings showing the growth of the village of ‘Meergate’ into the
town of Margate.
The Museum’s wide-ranging collection provides a unique insight
into the development of Margate, and the people who’ve lived there,
from its earliest beginnings to the present day.
