ARTS+ENTERTAINMENT CHRISTMAS FUN IN TUNBRIDGE WELLS Ice Skating in Calverley Grounds Aladdin at the Assembly Hall Theatre 17TH NOVEMBER 2017 – 1ST JANUARY 2018 8TH DECEMBER 2017 – 3RD From 17th November, Calverley Grounds will be transformed into the ultimate winter destination, signalling the start of the festive season. The Tunbridge Wells ice rink returns for 2017 with stylish skating, festive food and drink, music and Christmas shopping inspiration. 38 There will be magic and excitement galore this Christmas at the Assembly Hall Theatre when Aladdin comes to town from. Former EastEnders heartthrob, Michael Greco, leads the cast as Abanazar in the classic rags-to-riches tale, featuring a beautiful princess, magic lamps and a hilarious genie. He played Albert Square’s bad boy, Beppe di Marco from 1998 to 2002, a role that saw him win the British Soap Award for ‘Sexiest Male’ in both 1999 and 2000. Joining Michael Greco is Jess Robinson. Following her captivating performance in Britain’s Got Talent, Jess – the woman of a 1,000 voices – will play the role of the Slave of the Ring. By day or night, visitors can skate in the beautiful splendour of Calverley Grounds’ amphitheatre, decorated for Christmas with twinkling festive lights. On selected nights across the season the ice rink will once again collaborate with The Forum – the lifeblood of the live music scene – and host indie and folk music nights. Aladdin will be played by CBBC presenter Mark Rhodes, winner of the 2015 BAFTA Children’s Award as half of Sam & Mark. Tom Whalley plays the hilarious PC Pong and Chris Pizzey, who appeared at the Assembly Hall Theatre in panto nine years ago, plays Wishee Washee. Chris, known for his appearances in television’s The Basil Brush Show, will be joined by larger than life Quinn Patrick as he takes to the stage in a glorious flurry of fabulous frocks as Tunbridge Well’s magnificent panto dame, Widow Twankey. www.tunbridgewellsatchristmas.com www.assemblyhalltheatre.co.uk
