This is the story of some books. Some books who live in a library. But this is no ordinary library. This library belongs to Brian. It’ s a wonderful, magical place where the books like to flutter their pages and let their shelves go … The latest show from MONSTRO Theatre, the pioneers of the Puppet Musical, this is a show that brings books to life for all children and their grown-ups.

Have a fun day out at Tenterden’ s Steam Railway this Halloween with a relaxing return train journey between Tenterden and Bodiam stations hauled by a heritage steam or diesel engine. Enjoy all the free family-friendly events including the Mr Mystery magic show and pumpkin carving. Why not arrive in fancy dress and visit our face painters to complete your scary look? At Bodiam Station, passengers can alight to see the exhilarating birds of prey flying demonstrations where birds dive and swoop over the station with Bodiam Castle in the background. There will be two flying demonstrations each day lasting approx. 30 minutes. Train travel and events are all included with the purchase of a Travelcard.

CHIDDINGSTONE CASTLE SCHOOL OF WITCHCRAFT AND WIZARDRY // 26-28 OCT
For the very first time you are invited to enjoy the magic of Chiddingstone Castle’ s School of Witchcraft and Wizardry! Meet the school’ s headmaster wizard on arrival and be‘ sorted’ into your house. Then attend special classes of potion making, choir practice, spell school and, of course, the flying school too! Real wizards and witches( well, real theatrical performers!) will be here to make sure you experience an amazing day! The castle will be closed to usual visitors on these special days – but young witches and wizards will be able to explore the fascinating rooms within the castle as part of their special school day! The castle’ s tearoom will be open for light refreshments throughout the day. There’ ll also be a fancy dress competition and certificates for all students. Pre-booked tickets are essential and all information and ticket sales will soon be available online from the castle’ s website.

KENT PAINTERS GROUP ANNUAL ART EXHIBITION & SALE // 27-29 OCT
KPG will be hosting their 27th Annual Art Exhibition and Sale over the weekend of Friday 28th October to Sunday 30th October. Entry is free all weekend. On Friday evening you can‘ meet the artists’ between 6.30pm and 9pm. A chance to come along and view the art, with a first chance to buy, perhaps with a glass of wine in your hand! Open Saturday 29th Oct and Sunday 30th October from 10am- 4pm. Unframed work and artists’ proofs are also for sale along with coffee, cakes and light lunches.
