THE NMF CLINIC: SPECIALISTS IN NATURAL THERAPIES
LIAT D’ ELIA, FOUNDER OF NMF CLINIC AND SPECIALIST IN NATURAL TREATMENTS FOR HORMONAL BALANCE, FERTILITY, PREGNANCY, POSTNATAL CARE AND BODY WELLBEING CONDITIONS, ANSWERS YOUR QUESTIONS ABOUT REFLEXOLOGY AND MASSAGE.
What’ s different about reflexology at the nmf clinic?
It’ s all in the name –‘ nmf’ stands for natural maternity and fertility. Women deal with hormonal changes all the time. Ideally, your monthly cycle should be painless and predictable and as life progresses, you handle hormonal changes relating to fertility, pregnancy, birth and menopause with ease and confidence. Unfortunately, the stresses of modern life, health issues, and the environment in which we live can create hormonal imbalances that are painful and problematic. We use reflexology and massage therapies to get right to these symptoms.
What sort of symptoms do your clients face?
Sometimes clients are dealing with known conditions, like pre-menstrual tension, premenopause issues or medical conditions.
Other clients have symptoms like migraines, anger or depression, which may or may not be related to their hormonal balance. We help relieve pain in conditions such as irritable bowel syndrome, allergies, arthritis and fibromyalgia too; we can also treat general aches and pains.
What if clients are on medication?
Lots of clients have often already seen their GP and may be taking conventional medicated treatments such as IUI, IVF or ICSI fertility treatments. We work with our clients to help stimulate or calm their bodies for a healthy response to medication.
How do I choose between massage and reflexology?
This is a personal preference, but importantly, can also be because of specific issues that you are experiencing. Generally, massage is more appropriate for treating muscle pain, back pain, increasing lymph function and postural problems, while reflexology reflects a holistic approach to restoring health and balance to the body’ s own regulatory systems via the pressure points on your feet.
How long do treatments take?
First-time reflexology appointments include a consultation, you should expect a 90-minute appointment starting from £ 45. Follow-up reflexology therapy takes 50 minutes. We offer lots of combination treatment packages too, which are great for recharging the body.
