Each year, we deliver a LINK project which
aims to build connections between local
communities and the wide variety of creative
opportunities found in Kent. In 2016, we
worked with Canterbury College’s NEETs (not
in education, employment or training)
students on an intensive music project leading
to a public showcase of music, written and
produced by the participants. For 2017, the
decision has been made to extend our LINK
project to work with five groups. We’ll be
releasing exciting details of these projects in
the coming months.
There’s so much for the community to get
involved in at lots of different levels – and we
couldn’t make it all happen without two vital
things. Firstly, donations to our outreach work
keep them free to participants; it’s easy to
donate via our website. Secondly, our brilliant
and dedicated volunteers, some of whom
have been with us for almost 30 years! Find
out more about how to become a volunteer
on our website. Make sure you’re in
Canterbury City Centre on Saturday 14th
October for the Festival’s Opening Day Parade
followed by street entertainment and live
music in Whitefriars – there will be something
for everyone to enjoy! available for you to come along to a great
night of cabaret, jazz and dancing along with
a light 2-course meal. The funds raised will
support us in delivering our aims and
expanding the number of people we are able
to work with year on year.
We don’t just have events going on in October,
either – one of the year’s biggest events is our
September Spectacular fundraiser at Westgate
Hall on 1st September at 7.30pm. Tickets are For more information, call 01227 452 853 or
