THE IMPROVEMENT STUDIO

THE IMPROVEMENT STUDIO IS A SMALL BUSINESS OWNED AND RUN BY FRIENDS, VINCENT WEEDEN AND BRYONY LEVERMORE. VINCENT IS A FULLY QUALIFIED TATTOO ARTIST WITH 13 YEARS INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE. HE SPENT EIGHT YEARS LIVING AND WORKING IN CANADA, FINALLY RETURNING TO THE UK IN 2016 WITH THE INTENTION OF SETTING UP A NEW BUSINESS FOCUSING ON THE COSMETIC APPLICATION OF TATTOOS. AT AROUND THE SAME TIME, VINCENT WAS INTRODUCED TO BRYONY, WHO WAS LOOKING AT INVESTING IN A TATTOO REMOVAL LASER BUSINESS – A FEW CONVERSATIONS ABOUT HOW THESE TWO IDEAS COULD WORK TOGETHER LATER, THE IMPROVEMENT STUDIO WAS CREATED.
Hi Vincent. What makes the Improvement Studio different?
The Improvement Studio is a hybrid of tattoo parlour and beauty salon, aimed at those who perhaps wouldn’ t feel comfortable walking into either of those businesses, but are interested in the services that they offer. We are a one-stop-shop for anybody with a tattoo regret – following a consultation, we can create a bespoke a treatment package that will improve any unfortunate inking, whether you want it covered up, laser removed, or a combination of these to create the look you always wanted.
What services do you offer?
Our business focuses on cosmetic laser and ink procedures such as eyebrow microblading, semi-permanent makeup, and laser tattoo removal, but as part of our improvement philosophy we will rework or cover up any existing tattoos, including semi-permanent makeup, as a standalone service, or in conjunction with our laser removal treatments.
So, tell us more about laser removal – what is the process?
Tattoo ink is made up of various materials containing particles that are too large for your body to absorb easily( although the immune system will try, which is why your tattoo will fade and blur over time). The tattoo removal process at Improvement Studio utilises a Q- switched ND YAG laser which transmits an intense beam of light through the skin, shattering the tattoo ink into smaller particles that your body can then absorb and remove as part of your normal waste cycle.
How long do procedures take?
The length of the procedure will depend on the size of the tattoo, but the application of the laser takes no longer that it would take you to draw over the top of the tattoo.
Is it expensive?
Laser treatment is priced on the size of the tattoo per session. Our laser treatments start from £ 50 for one session on a finger-sized tattoo, needing an average of eight sessions for total removal. At your consultation we can tailor a treatment plan to suit your needs and you can reduce the overall cost of your treatment if you take advantage of our 3-for- 2 offer by pre-booking sessions in advance.
Is it painful?
Opinions on this vary! I’ m in the process of removing some tattoos of my own, and to me the pain level is the same as getting a tattoo, it’ s just a different kind of pain – a bit sharper and more immediate.
Where can we find you and how do we book?
The Improvement Studio is on the High Street in the picturesque village of Charing in Kent. There are excellent public transport services from Maidstone and Ashford, and the village is easy find by car from the A20. There is ample parking in the village, right outside the studio, and if you arrive early there is a pretty tea room and some lovely country walks to take advantage of. Consultation appointments, including a laser patch test are free, so if you need some improvement contact us today – it costs nothing to ask!
