WELCOME
What a view... Tuscan Splendour p142
The birds are singing, the sun is shining, and it’ s the month of our annual food issue – what a time to be alive! If you’ re a regular reader of insideKENT, you know we love our food, and it’ s never more evident than each June when we cover the best restaurants, recipes, and what makes Kent such a superb foodie destination.
Start your gastronomic tour on page 55 where we’ ve plotted out the ultimate Kent pub crawl, featuring 20 of the county’ s best places for a cold drink and a delicious bite to eat. For your seafood fix, flip over to page 62, or if you fancy stepping up your game in the kitchen, turn to page 85 for a guide to online and local cooking courses.
This month, I followed up with the chefs from our May issue’ s“ The Art of Food” feature, who offered some of their favourite fresh and local recipes to try at home – check it out on page 73. The roast duck breast looks especially tasty.
Continuing on with the food theme, and, ahem, strictly for research, I ventured out to Tuscany for a quick break last month, staying at the spectacular Hotel Le Fontanelle. The wine, the meals, the scenery – everything was perfection. Have a read about it on page 142, and be sure to visit their website( and book!) if you’ re still looking for a perfect summer getaway.
If food’ s not your thing( I’ m not sure how that’ s possible), don’ t worry; this issue is full of all our regular features including fashion, days out, events, beauty, health & wellness, interiors and lots more. Enjoy the magazine, and the lovely month of June( officially when summer begins) – see you in July!
