Bexley
Bexley is another area of Kent that is chock-full of gorgeous and surprising artistic pieces. They include:
Wood carvings at Lesnes Abbey Wood Tom Harvey, a wood sculptor, has created a series of sculptures showing natural heritage and enhancing the landscape at Lesnes Abbey Woods.
The Fish Mosaic, Erith This award-winning mosaic sculpture by Gary Drostle is based on the medieval De Luci Family’ s Arms.
The Cob at Belvedere Created by renowned artist Andy Scott, this stunning five-metre high steel sculpture of a gypsy cob horse celebrates the unique character and industrial history of the area surrounding it.
Propella Created by renowned artist Andy Scott this steel sculpture represents the rich industrial history of Crayford, particularly its links with the Vickers Company.
Cobtree Manor Park
Cobtree Manor Park in Maidstone is full of unexpected art thanks to its dedicated sculpture trail. Take a wander through the pathways and you’ ll come across a variety of different sculptures which are just stunning. As well as the sculptures in its 50 acres of parkland, you can find a themed play area and a café. Idyllic.
Thanet
The area of Thanet seems to be awash with beautiful – and unexpected – art. Wander through Ramsgate, Margate and Broadstairs and you’ ll come across such wonders as:
