The Season Opening Race Evening at Brighton Racecourse on Easter Saturday 15th April is the day to start your social calendar off with a bang ! So with fabulous food and drink , great entertainment , easy access via public transport including a free shuttle bus from Brighton station , free parking and affordable tickets , an evening at the races on the 15th of April makes for unbeatable fun and a great excuse to get your friends together for a day out . Easter Saturday will see the annual Hat Festival take place in Faversham , with the highlight being the Hat Parade . Starting at The Hat Shop in West Street it winds its way through the town centre at 11 o ’ clock . It will be led by Jack Spratt , the Town Crier , and accompanied by a group of wandering minstrels followed by hundreds of adults , children and pets in a wonderful array of hats . Some will be competing for one of the best hat prizes on offer but many others are there just to enjoy the occasion . The competition categories will be judged at the Alexander Centre – the destination of the parade .
