Chegworth Farm Shop CELEBRATES FIRST ANNIVERSARY

CHEGWORTH FARM SHOP, A FARM SHOP WITH A DIFFERENCE BASED IN THE HEART OF THE BUZZING PANTILES, WILL BE CELEBRATING THEIR FIRST ANNIVERSARY FROM THE 12TH – 14TH MAY 2017.
Offering visitors a wide range of fresh seasonal produce and farm-pressed juices delivered daily from the family farm, the shop is filled to the brim with the best local and speciality meats, dairy, whole foods, fresh breads, sauces, condiments and all sorts of foodie treats.
The shop was opened last May following the success of Chegworth’ s pop-up farm shop at Bluewater Shopping Centre, which demonstrated that there was high demand for food and drink from independent producers, but in a location that was easily reached without having to make the journey out of town to the farm itself.
The offering in the farm shop changes with the seasons – Chegworth’ s speciality is apples and pears, with over 30 varieties being grown on the farm and through the summer produce such as tomatoes, cucumbers, salad leaves, aubergines, courgettes, strawberries, raspberries, plums and much more are harvested by hand and delivered daily from the farm to the shop. By working with other farmers both locally, regionally and internationally the shop is able to offer a full range of produce from cabbages and cavolo nero, to citrus fruits and avocados as well as more specialist produce like fresh chanterelle mushrooms & ceps.
Where possible, the shop works directly with the producer, to ensure the best quality and freshness. As members of Produced in Kent, the farm shop has ties with many local Kentbased suppliers as well as those just over the border in Sussex. Bread is delivered daily from the Hungry Guest and Light House Bakery( who also supply the best sausage rolls!), meats from Park Farm Butchers in Hawkhurst and milk and cheese from Kingcott Dairy based in Staplehurst. Ginger’ s Kitchen supplies soups and hand-cooked meals from their kitchen in West Sussex for those looking for an easy, yet nutritious dinner option and an extensive range of vegan and vegetarian products are stocked to cater for this growing market.
With more and more artisan vineyards, breweries and distilleries being established in the local area, the shop offers award-winning wines from Biddenden Vineyards and Sedlescombe Organic Vineyards, beers from Westerham Brewery and Romney Brewery, ciders from Turners Cider and Hurstwood Cider and gin from Anno Distillers. Chegworth Valley’ s own range of farmpressed juices are also available year round, with varieties such as classic Cox & Bramley apple juice to more unusual blends including Apple & Rhubarb, Apple & Elderflower and Apple & Beetroot.
Chegworth Farm Shop’ s first anniversary celebrations will be taking place to tie in with the renowned Pantiles Food & Drink Festival from Friday 12th – Sunday 14th May.
