DIGITAL MARKETING: THE YEAR AHEAD …
BY LUKE QUILTER, CEO AT SLEEPING GIANT MEDIA
There’ s often so much going on, that it is difficult to know where you are with your digital marketing. We need to know what the year ahead holds, and where to focus our efforts.
Although lots of changes will happen in digital marketing across 2017, here are three areas I feel will be the most important for brands and businesses to utilise in order to meet their customer ' s needs.
MOBILE There are now more Google searches made on mobile than from desktops. This year, Google will be rolling out an update to the way they rank websites. If yours isn’ t mobile optimised, you are likely to be negatively affected.
VIDEO There are 400 hours of video uploaded every 60 seconds to YouTube. The viewer statistics continue to increase and it is the world ' s second largest search engine behind Google. If you aren’ t on YouTube producing content, you are missing out on a great opportunity to meet new customers.
VOICE This is the one to jump on now … With the introduction of Siri and devices like Amazon Alexa, people are using their voice to: search, buy things, and listen to music. In the US, 20 % of searches from a mobile device are already voice search. This is a trend that is likely to increase in the coming years as technology improves and devices are more accessible. So, get optimising your marketing for voice!
