How important are volunteers to The Bridge Trust, and what sort of things do they do?
As we deal with vulnerable people, we don’ t use many volunteers with our support work. However we couldn’ t run our shops without lots of volunteers and our quarterly mailings would take a lot longer to complete without a team we have who work at our office.
What are your ultimate aims?
As with most charities, our dream would be to put ourselves out of business because there were no more homeless people to help! However, numbers of homeless people are increasing, not decreasing so that really is a dream as opposed to an aim or objective. Therefore our aim is to give accommodation and support to as many homeless people as we can, ultimately moving them on into sustained and fulfilled independent living.
