THIS SPRING, THE CONFERENCE AND EVENTS TEAM AT TUDOR PARK MARRIOTT HOTEL & COUNTRY CLUB IN BEARSTED WILL BE ENCOURAGING KENT BUSINESS MEN AND WOMEN TO THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX WHEN IT COMES TO HOLDING MEETINGS.
Instead of offering a fixed‘ menu’ of meeting styles, the team has adopted a unique approach of creating mood boards of ideas based on individual client needs.
“ One size does not fit all and so we ask clients why are they holding the meeting and then build a theme around that,” says new senior events manager Julia Ashton( pictured left).“ The concept is called Meetings Imagined and it does just that – imagine how you can get the best out of your staff or delegates and we will create the environment for you. Our aim is the same as our clients – to make people feel inspired and to ensure the event is not only productive, but memorable.”
Ideas can be as simple as having comfortable sofas and chairs arranged around the more formal conference layout to provide uninhibited discussion during breakout or group sessions. Static bikes and exercise balls can be available at lunchtimes to act as a de-stresser. And lunchtime menus will include energising dishes and juices to help prevent the afternoon‘ slump’. As the weather gets warmer, there is even potential to hold meetings outdoors in the hotel’ s gazebo.
The four-star hotel can accommodate up to 250 delegates, theatre style, in its Thurnham Suite, up to 16 in its boardrooms, and eight in its syndicate rooms. Or smaller groups can meet in the hotel’ s stylish lobby and Mezzanine Lounge, where free Wi-Fi and computer power points are available, and views of the picturesque greens and 30 acres of rolling landscape are guaranteed.
