NEW APP FOR STAGECOACH
Stagecoach is excited to announce they’ ve launched their new app which they are confident will save passengers time by providing mobile ticketing, better information and live bus tracking.
The Stagecoach Bus App can be downloaded free of charge for Apple and Android mobile phones from the App Store and Google Play respectively. Payments on the app can be made by PayPal, or via debit or credit card.
Through the app, they ' re now able to offer mobile ticketing on their local bus services for the first time, allowing customers to instantly buy and download tickets straight to their smartphone.
The app offers a simple journey planner which uses interactive maps and the smartphone GPS system to help customers find their nearest bus stop and the most suitable bus service for their journey. The app also provides information on journey length and fare options, and passengers can track their bus in live time, allowing them to check the status of their journey to make the most of their time before leaving for the bus stop.
In addition, the app allows users to pinpoint their location during their journey, helping them figure out where they are on the route, how far they are from their destination and when to get off the bus. This will be a very useful feature for those who aren’ t regular bus users or people who may be visiting a new location and are unsure of the route the bus will take.
SEASIDE PUB WINS NATIONAL BEER GARDEN AWARD
The Belle Vue Tavern in Pegwell Bay near Ramsgate has been honoured in SME Insurance’ s Best Beer Garden competition. The Shepherd Neame pub, which boasts stunning views of Pegwell Bay from its large terraced garden, won second place in the national competition.
The final decision was based on the number of votes from members of the public and the decision of an independent judging panel comprising experts from the Morning Advertiser, the British Beer and Pub Association, and Two Thirsty Gardeners blog.
Jonathan Webber, SMEi commercial director said:“ Competition was fierce, with all ten finalists deserving high praise for making it such a close-run battle. The quality of entries was very high and underlines how much time and effort publicans put into creating a memorable beer garden. The standard has been set for next year!”
