BRITISH FURNITURE AND HOMEWARE BRAND, NEPTUNE, OPEN NEW HOME CONCEPT STORE IN CANTERBURY
This July, the award-winning furniture and accessories retailer, Neptune, opens its 16th UK store, adding to its growing portfolio across the UK and Europe.
Close to historic landmarks like Canterbury Cathedral and St Augustine’ s Abbey, Neptune Canterbury sees a former oast house converted and renovated in true Neptune style while being sympathetic to the original features. The 6,135 sq ft store is set over three floors including a mezzanine level – showcasing the contemporary Limehouse kitchen – that exposes the existing roof structure, as well as featuring a grand, full-height entrance hall.
Gary Temprell, director of retail at Neptune, said:“ Continuing to add to our fantastic portfolio of locations, Neptune Canterbury will take a prime position on the Wincheap road and will be run by our long-term partners, James and Alison Buck in collaboration with business partners Mark and Sarah Crichton. James and Alison, who also successfully manage our Tonbridge store, will be able to share their extensive experience and knowledge of the brand with visitors to the store.”
Neptune Canterbury’ s opening weekend was held on 14th-17th July. For more details visit www. neptune. com / canterbury.
GET CRIPPS TO RIO
Staff from law firm Cripps are preparing for a summer of sport as they work towards their latest fundraising challenge – Get Cripps to Rio. Between Friday 22nd July and Sunday 21st August, staff will be walking, running and cycling 5,767 miles – the distance from Tunbridge Wells to Rio de Janeiro.
A number of sporting activities have been planned with Tour de Cripps returning for a second consecutive year. Fourteen staff members will be cycling the Tour de Cripps – a 55-mile route taking them between Cripps’ offices in London, Kings Hill and Tunbridge Wells. Other events organised include bike relays, rowing competitions and the Tunbridge Wells circular walk.
The event is being supported by Tunbridge Wells cycling café The Velo House, and its owner and general manager Olly Stevens said:“ We are delighted to be supporting Cripps on its‘ journey to Rio’. It was great fun watching last year’ s Tour de Cripps and the team spirit as they rode between offices was tremendous.”
Funds raised will be going to the Alzheimer’ s Society, Cripps’ charity of the year for 2016. Solicitor Hannah Proctor, one of the organisers of Get Cripps to Rio explains:“ After raising over £ 4,000 last year with the Tour de Cripps we decided to go one step – or rather thousands of steps – further. The firm loves a challenge and we have a wide range of people taking part in all of the events from across the firm.”
