Eltham College crowned
Kent Hockey Champions
Eltham College 1st XI Hockey Team were crowned
Kent Hockey Champions at the Kent Cup Finals
competition held at Tonbridge School. Kent is one
of the top counties in the country for schools’
hockey and Eltham College was represented in
the three main age groups of the U14s, U16s and
U18s for the first time.
Director of Hockey, Mr Edd Thorogood commented: “Throughout both
the semi-final and final, the boys kept their heads, despite the tough
opposition and twists and turns of the game.”

recent years has been strengthened with the arrival of professional
Hockey Coach Mr Calum Giles, double Olympic athlete capped 143
times by Great Britain and England. Calum is also Head Coach of
Blackheath and Old Elthamians Hockey Club, located at Eltham College
since 2012 where many of the Eltham College boys play from age 7
through to senior men’s level.
