Pratham, an organisation dedicated
to improving education for children

Drink Me Chai’s founder Amanda
Hamilton, who recently presented
a £5,000 cheque to Pratham UK,
wanted to “give something back”
to the country which introduced her
to Chai, a blend of black tea, milk
and spices. Having seen first hand
the incredible work done by
Pratham, from grass roots levels up
to official education policy, she knew

this was an organisation really
making a difference to people’s lives.
“Childhood illiteracy in India is a
fundamental problem that blights
the lives and prospects of half the
country’s children,” says
Amanda. “Pratham understands
how to address this crisis and
through its Read India programme,
they are working tirelessly to improve
the lives of millions of children. I am

a part in helping young people and
their families realize their hopes for
