Jousting Tournaments
& Summer Fun at
HEVER CASTLE
There’s fun for all the family at Hever Castle
& Gardens in Kent this summer with a
packed programme of events and activities.
Jousting Tournaments take place
on July 18th & 19th; 25th & 26th,
and August 8th & 9th; 15th & 16th;
22nd & 23rd and 28th–31st when
the brave Knights of Royal England
return to battle it out on the Jousting
arena. Spectators will be treated to
exciting displays of action, stunts,
falls and fights as the brave knights
compete for points.
Come along and try on a suit
of armour or dress up as a knight
or princess at the Medieval
Weekend with Jousting on July
25th & 26th. Then support your
chosen knights in the spectacular
jousting tournaments taking place
over the weekend.
And experience what medieval
life was like at Tudor Living and
Jousting on August 29th–
31st when visitors can explore a
Tudor encampment, watch displays
of armed combat, listen to historic
tales and witness more thrills and
spills from our brave knights.
A weekend dedicated to our
canine friends takes place over the
weekend of August 1st & 2nd with
the emphasis on service dogs and
visitors’ beloved pets. Paws at the
Castle features displays from service
dogs working for the military and
fire service. Visitors have the chance

to enter their pets in a fun dog show
,
with awards for the winners in each
category. Dog owners can also talk
to experts about their dog’s
behaviour or treat their pet to a new
accessory and doggie goody as
they browse the wide variety of
stalls.
Other attractions to enjoy over
the summer holidays are the Water
Maze, 100-year old Yew Maze and
Lake Walk. Children can let off
steam in the Adventure Playground
and there’s Have-a-go Archery* and
boating* on the 38-acre lake as well
as trips on the African Queen Steam
Boat* (*additional charge).
Families can make a day of it
with lunch in the award-winning
restaurant and afternoon tea served
with delicious cakes, or bring a
picnic to enjoy in the grounds.
Gardens open at 10.30am;
Castle opens at 12 noon. Last
admission 4.30pm; final exit 6pm.
