ARTS+ENTERTAINMENT Nucleus ArtsFests 2015 INSPIRE SHOWCASE Nucleus ArtsFests are free one-day festivals celebrating the arts and creativity in Chatham. These follow on from the success of the last three-year’s celebrations. The festivals will include live music, theatre, dance, contemporary street theatre, poetry, film and the visual arts, showcasing professional and amateur artists with a particular focus on artists who are connected with the Medway towns. There will also be artisan markets, workshops and open studios to keep you busy while you are there. The ArtsFests will be held in Chatham on Saturday 16th May, 13th and 20th June, 11th July, and 19th September 2015. The acts will mostly be performing at Nucleus' main Chatham Centre at 272 High Street, with some acts roaming through the town centre. Headline acts already confirmed include Jamie Johnson (Kylie Minogue’s finalist from last year’s The Voice on BBC1), Lupen Crook, Ben Richards, Ella Halpern-Matthews, and Halcyon. SUPPORT CREATE The Nucleus ArtsFest highlights the work Nucleus Arts has done to promote the arts in the area, and the work it has carried out to enhance the local community. Nucleus Arts is full of inventive, progressive ideas, and insists on collaboration, making it the inspirational cultural and creative heart of Kent and Medway. This year’s festival will continue to strengthen these themes, and will be working alongside FUSE, River Festival, Mid Kent College, University of Kent, SupaJam, and the Royal Engineers Museum, amongst others. 47 Nucleus Arts is an award-winning flagship charitable arts organisation, which over the past 13 years has been a huge part of Chatham’s and the Medway town’s growing profile as an exciting growth area for the arts. It has worked tirelessly to promote affordability, accessibility and approachability alongside excellence in the arts for artists and the wider community, while also improving the local community spirit. www.nucleusarts.com
