GB Pizza Company – Visit Margate's Great

The Bay Restaurant at Sands Hotel – With
superb views out to sea and a large west facing
terrace, the Bay Restaurant is ideal for seaside
dining. Menus include seasonal and locally

Walpole Bay Hotel – A visit to the grand Walpole
Bay Hotel when in town is a must. Dating back
to 1914, the hotel offers décor mostly unchanged
since Betjeman's days, a museum, splendid
afternoon teas, Sunday lunch, and exquisite à
la carte dishes in its Edwardian restaurant.
The Glass Jar – In a coastal town, freshly caught,
local seafood is often exactly what diners want,
and at The Glass Jar, that is exactly what they

Top Spot
As Margate continues to grow and thrive,
more and more annual events are making their
way into the calendar. Here are just a few to
start with.
Winter Gardens
GEEK – Taking place each February, GEEK is a
festival that brings fun and games to the winter
months and supports the local economy out of
season. People have travelled across the country
and even across the ocean to attend GEEK.
There are digital and analogue activities for casual
and dedicated gamers and there are over 1,000
playable video games to play on hundreds of
consoles.
Margate Beach Cross – Held annually on
Margate Main Sands, quad riders and spectators
from far and wide head to Kent each March for
this anticipated competition.
Margate Meltdown – The Margate Meltdown is
the most recently established of Ace Café
London's free-to-attend major ride outs. The ride
out from the café to this popular seaside resort
has been held each year on occasion of the May
spring bank holiday. Margate seafront and harbour
is given over to motorcycles and scooters, diverse
club and trade stands, and a stage for live
entertainment.
