FOOD+DRINK UNIQUE DINING AT The Weavers Pub Serving delicious Malaysian, Thai and traditional pub food, the Kentbased, historic Weavers Pub really is one of a kind BY HELEN BYRDE Nestled on the outskirts of Tunbridge Wells in Southborough, the picturesque 16th-century Grade II-listed public house is an imposing halftimbered building. Inside, the period features continue with an historic fireplace, a priest hole, and I am told – a spring in the cellar. There are two bar areas and a cosy, yet formal restaurant towards the back. It feels like your archetypal friendly local pub. If traditional pub grub is what you’re after, you can certainly indulge in the usual fare at the Weavers – with homemade shepherd’s pie, rib eye steak, gammon, egg and chips and steak and ale pie among the delights on the menu.
