ART EXHIBITION RAISES MORE THAN £ 1,000 FOR SCOTTS PROJECT TRUST
An exhibition of original artworks by artists with learning difficulties has raised more than £ 1,000 for Tonbridge charity Scotts Project Trust, celebrating the creativity and achievements of its students.
Held at The Amelia Scott in Tunbridge Wells this summer, Perspectives invited visitors to see the world through the eyes of the artists, with multimedia works exploring colour, texture, nature, imagination and emotion.
Art is a regular part of life at Scotts, where residents and day service users take part in workshops using a variety of materials and techniques including textiles, paint, textures, ceramics and papier mache.
Many of the artworks on display were sold, with pieces bought by visitors to the exhibition as well as people attending meetings and workshops at the venue.
“ I enjoy using the different techniques of art,” said Alison, one of the art students.“ I love that our work was on display for the public to see. I like how we have done group projects together and made something as a team, as well as on our own.”
