OH YES IT IS! THERE’ S NO PLACE LIKE THE WOODVILLE THIS CHRISTMAS!
CHRISTMAS WOULDN’ T BE CHRISTMAS WITHOUT A TRIP TO THE PANTO – AND THIS YEAR, WICKED PRODUCTIONS IS BRINGING THE MAGIC, MAYHEM AND MISCHIEF OF THE WIZARD OF OZ TO THE WOODVILLE!
From Friday 6 December to Saturday 2 January, audiences of all ages are invited to follow the yellow brick road for a gloriously funny festive adventure packed with belly laughs, brilliant comedy, spectacular special effects, dazzling costumes, fantastic music and plenty of those classic panto moments that make a trip to The Woodville a Christmas tradition for the whole family.
For many local families, the annual Wicked Productions panto is a highlight of the festive season- a chance to get together, switch off from the Christmas rush and enjoy an afternoon or evening of proper old-fashioned fun. Whether you’ ve been coming every year for as long as you can remember, or you’ re discovering the magic for the very first time, The Wizard of Oz is the perfect excuse to bring the whole family along, join in with the shouting, singing and cheering, and laugh until your sides hurt!
And this year’ s cast promises to make it one to remember. EastEnders legend Dean Gaffney takes to the stage as the mysterious Wizard of Oz, while Gravesend favourite Rob Cummings celebrates an incredible 10 sensational years of panto magic as the fabulous Glinda the Good. They’ re joined by JezO as the hilarious Scarecrow, Byron Witchell as the Tin Man and Georgia Rowland-Elliott as Lioness, while local star Christina Akinyelu is introduced as Dorothy.
Expect a whirlwind of comedy, chaos and colourful characters as Dorothy sets off on her journey along the yellow brick road- with plenty of unexpected twists, outrageous silliness and opportunities for the audience to get involved along the way. From the first curtain call to the final spectacular moment, this is panto at its most entertaining, energetic and gloriously bonkers!
Wicked Productions’ annual pantomime is more than just a show- it’ s part of Christmas at The Woodville.
