If you enjoy art and nature, and have a curious mind, then do not miss this wonderful sculpture trail, combining the very best of what Mother Nature has to offer with exceptional sculptural works..

Following on from the success of last year’ s exhibition, the sculptors will be bringing over 60 new works to enhance the gorgeous gardens at Riverhill. This year’ s exhibition is strongly influenced by the natural world and features both abstract and figurative pieces in a range of mediums and scales, creating an endlessly surprising journey through the gardens and allowing visitors to experience these much-loved grounds in entirely new ways.
From the classical elegance of Malcolm West’ s figurative work to Alison Catchlove’ s playful metal birds, there is a wide variety for all ages to enjoy. Kate Woodlock’ s much loved horse bronzes will be returning, alongside artists that are new to the gardens such as John Wyatt, who will be showing a wonderful large-scale abstract work in aluminium.

SURREY SCULPTURE SOCIETY

RETURNS TO RIVERHILL GARDENS!

The trail has been carefully curated to work in harmony with the natural beauty that surrounds it. Jane Henderson’ s large, ceramic work Big Bud is a perfect example of a piece leaning heavily on nature for inspiration, but becoming almost abstracted and entirely its own unique entity through scale and form.
“ Riverhill Himalayan Gardens is a wonderful setting for a sculpture trail that encompasses the diverse subjects and styles created by our sculptors at Surrey Sculpture Society,” says Miranda, one of the trail designers.“ It’ s clear to see how the designers, and indeed the artists themselves, have been inspired by the gardens, creating a symbiotic relationship, which is in perfect harmony and yet creates subtle disruptions and challenges to the visitor as they walk the trail.”
The exhibition runs from 12 May until 27 September. Riverhill Gardens is open Wednesday- Sunday( including Bank Holiday Mondays) from 10am- 5pm. There is no need to prebook- normal garden
