WELCOME
Spring has well and truly sprung in the Garden of England- and thank goodness for that. Blue skies are once again making an appearance, attractions are opening their gates, gardens are bursting into bloom and new life, like our front cover star lamb at Hadlow, is bringing smiles all round.
With the arrival of longer days, it’ s the ideal time to start planning more adventures close to home, which is why we’ re delighted to give this issue a special Kent Staycation- Summer of Staycays focus. From magical Nighttime with Nature experiences- think newborn lambs on Romney Marsh to Highland cattle encounters and the spine-tingling thrill of big cat roars after dark- to our insider insideGUIDE to Broadstairs, we’ re here to help you make the most of every moment in the county. You can find more inspiration on the best days out, places to dine and spots to rest your weary staycation head in the 2026 edition of Kent Staycation, which is out this month too!
Back to this issue... when it comes to the county’ s tempting eats, The Garden of Tasteland uncovers some of Kent’ s most interesting flavours, products and places to eat, celebrating what makes this corner of the country’ s food scene so tempting … We also herald the return of our Accessibility Special Feature. From Quiet Days Out spotlighted for neurodiverse visitors, to the pulse-racing adventures of Adrenaline Kent and a roundup of Accessible Breaks across the county for those with mobility considerations, it’ s all about opening Kentish doors to memorable experiences for all. insideKENT Magazine is published by Sideways Media Ltd, Sideways Studios, Unit 3 Eden Business Centre, South Stour Avenue, Ashford, Kent, TN23 7RS

April is also Stress Awareness Month( something that is not lost on a busy mum / editor managing deadlines with yet another half term!), so we have shone a spotlight on some wonderful ways to lower your own stress levels across the county, from restorative activities to mindful moments that will leave you feeling calmer, happier and more prepared for the month( and year) ahead.
Of course, Easter plays a starring role too. We’ ve gathered the best dates for your diary including some half term must-dos, as well as some tasty Little Mix! recipes- perfect for small hands to help with and an excellent way to use up any leftover chocolate eggs( not that this is often an issue at iKHQ!).
In fact, I’ m off to fight for the last- of the now viral- M & S Salted Caramel Egg and to enjoy the start of some much-needed longer, brighter days …
