A thrilling prehistoric adventure awaits at Betteshanger Country Park this season. Wrap up warm and lace up your walking boots as you get ready to set off on a countryside exploration- following the trail, solving the clues and answering the questions to uncover your prize. Start by picking up an activity sheet from reception and use the map to explore the route and record your answers as you go. Once you’ ve completed the hunt, return your sheet to reception to receive your dino prize!

In partnership with Fox & Edwards Events, meet The Gruffalo & The Gruffalo’ s Child at intervals throughout the day at the Kent & East Sussex Railway this half-term. Begin your journey at Tenterden Town station with a picturesque steam train journey through beautiful Kentish countryside. Every child will receive a complimentary activity sheet, storybook, crayon, biscuit and juice to enjoy during the journey. When you return to the station, don’ t forget your camera as The Gruffalo and The Gruffalo’ s Child will be waiting to meet families and pose for photos!

Alongside inclusive writing competitions for all ages, workshops, spoken word, slam poetry, children’ s and family events, this year’ s programme includes appearances from author of How to Live an Artful Life, Katy Hessell, best-selling poet Donna Ashworth, winner of the Booker Prize- Ben Okri, and Emma Warren, one of the UK’ s leading writers on youth culture and music.

BOOK CLUB AT KNOLE 2026 Knole, Sevenoaks
Join fellow book enthusiasts and discuss this year’ s book club theme of‘ From Page to Screen’ with a selection of titles that have been adapted for film including Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë, Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen, The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde and Hamnet by Maggie O’ Farrell. Each following club date will be available to book from the day of the preceding meeting and will take place in the Hayloft Learning Centre, with drinks and biscuits provided. Booking is essential.
