LOCAL BUSINESSES CELEBRATED AT TUNBRIDGE WELLS AWARDS

Thackray Williams is a leading South East law firm with offices across Bromley, London and Sevenoaks. The firm works with businesses and consumers across a wide range of legal services including corporate, banking and finance, commercial, education, sport and more.
Glasson combines a diverse legal background with experience as a commercial litigator and expertise in non-contentious commercial matters, positioning him well for the complexities of sport law. After building a network of sporting clients, he identified a gap in the market for comprehensive legal service.
“ My aim in setting up the sports sector at Thackray Williams has been to level the legal sports playing field by making specialised expertise affordable for athletes and clubs at all levels,” said Lewis Glasson.“ My new role aligns with this goal, proactively working with the FA and its member clubs to ensure appropriate opportunities and cultures are available for both athletes and fans.”
Proudly sponsored by Berry & Lamberts Solicitors, the awards not only brought together local business owners, supporters and community leaders for an evening recognising excellence across the borough, but also raised £ 7,200 for three local charities: Aspens Charities, Nourish Community Foodbank and Trinity Theatre.
“ The TN card has shown me what’ s possible when we support one another,” said founder Jess Gibson.“ Being able to celebrate our local businesses, raise money for important charities and enjoy a night that means so much locally is something I’ m incredibly proud of.”
The success of the Tunbridge Wells Business Awards has already sparked plans for future events, with organisers aiming to build on the momentum and continue championing local businesses while supporting causes that matter across the borough.
BEWL WATER INTRODUCES AFFORDABLE FAMILY ACTIVITIES TO KICKSTART 2026
Bewl Water, the South East’ s largest reservoir, has announced a programme of low-cost and early-bird family activities aimed at helping households beat the new year blues and make the start of 2026 more active and affordable.
Running throughout the winter and early spring, the programme includes a range of free and discounted attractions, from the popular Pirate Ship playground to Ranger Bear’ s Winter Quest, alongside reduced midweek rates for soft play and laser tag.
Industry research shows January and February are among the most financially cautious months for UK families, with leisure spending often postponed until later in the year. Bewl Water’ s approach surrounds that trend, combining free outdoor experiences with value-led promotions to encourage families to make the most of the outdoors.
With walking routes, outdoor play and flexible activities available, Bewl Water is tapping into a growing demand for accessible outdoor leisure that supports both physical wellbeing and household budgets.
