COLOUR CAPPING

Following on from colour drenching, colour is being used with new confidence this year. Colour capping extends a single shade across walls, ceiling, paintwork and soft furnishings allowing for subtle tonal depths that make rooms feel cohesive, enveloping and quietly luxurious. Soft greens, warm stone hues, deeper berry shades and earthy blues will lead the way thanks to their calm-inducing tones and versatility to coordinate with trending richer wood tones.

“ Colour capping isn’ t just about paint, it’ s an invitation to build a layered scheme that extends into your furnishings. Once you’ ve created that tonal gradient from wall to ceiling, carry those shades through in your upholstery and soft furnishings. For example, echo the ceiling’ s deeper tone in a velvet sofa or a pair of armchairs, while using lighter, complementary shades for rugs, throws or curtains to reflect the wall colour”.
