3 REFORMER PILATES

Reformer Pilates is having a massive renaissance and we’ re fully behind it. The reformer itself- all springs, straps and initially intimidating sliding platforms- looks like something from a 19thcentury medical facility, but once you’ re on it the appeal is instant. It’ s strength-building without the thud of impact, flexibility without the need to contort like a pretzel, and proper core conditioning that somehow feels subtle..
What’ s fuelling its rise is its suitability for real bodies, not just aspirational ones. It’ s joint-friendly, midlife / menopause-friendly and brilliant for back pain, balance and all the posture-related nonsense modern life throws at us including laptops, long drives and shoulders that live somewhere around our ears. Many people also love it for its aesthetic benefits, which include lengthened muscles, toned arms and that unmistakable waist-highlighting lift in the ribcage.
Kent’ s reformer scene is thriving. Studio Pilates in Tunbridge Wells remains a favourite for its tailored, technical approach, while the awardwinning Mindful Movement Studio in Gravesend offers beautifully paced classes that manage to be both challenging and calm. In North Kent, new studio REFORM + RESET brings a fresh, contemporary feel with small-group sessions designed for strength, alignment and that elusive sense of‘ Oh! This is what my core is meant to do!’, and brand new Pith Pilates in Ashford has a modern, minimalist studio aesthetic with a focus on precise, intelligently structured reformer workouts.

REGENERATIVE SKIN HEALTH & NON-INVASIVE BEAUTY
If 2025 was the year we collectively tired of‘ quick fixes’, 2026 is shaping up to be the moment we fall in love with skin health. Not just skincare- skin health- treatments that coax your complexion into behaving like its younger, better-slept self. Think LED light therapy, microneedling, radiofrequency( RF) tightening and barrier-boosting skin boosters. Nothing extreme, nothing injected( unless you opt for it); just clever, regenerative science that works with your skin rather than forcing it.
Kent is now dotted with clinics that champion this health-first approach. The Clinic at Langley in Maidstone offers clinically led LED, microneedling and RF work that focuses on long-term results. Dr Christine Medical Aesthetics in Tunbridge Wells takes a similarly regenerative approach, specialising in treatments that strengthen the skin over time rather than chase a fleeting glow. Alongside them, Elite Aesthetics in Greenhithe- headed by TV regular Dr Shirin Lakhani- brings medical-grade expertise and a broad menu of noninvasive aesthetic options including skin-boosters, microneedling, PRP‘ Vampire Facials’ and radiofrequency, always with a focus on ethical, doctor-led care. On the coast, SKINLAB Deal has built a steady following for its science-backed facials and collagen-supporting therapies- all suitable for real life and all underpinned by physiology, not filters. www. insidekent. co. uk • 101
