PROPEL YOUR GRADUATE CAREER AT BAE SYSTEMS

BAE Systems’ Rochester site in Kent employs more than 1,700 people and continues to recruit to support future growth. The site is currently undergoing a £ 220 million investment for an advanced technology factory. What’ s more, applications are now open for BAE Systems’ 2026 intake of apprentices, degree apprentices, undergraduates and graduates.

From 12-week summer internships and oneyear industrial placements to fully fledged graduate roles, emergent engineers could find themselves in hardware, mechanical, systems or software engineering disciplines and more. There are also graduate roles available in procurement.
Alexa is a senior engineer, having completed the graduate scheme three years ago. Her first experience at the company involved developing tests for an augmented reality pilot helmet as an undergraduate on a summer internship. She was offered a place on BAE Systems’ graduate hardware engineering programme after completing her degree.
“ The graduate scheme gave me the chance to work on world-leading technologies, and the ability to apply my skills and solve real problems, which motivated me to try my best every day,” said Alexa.“ I was lucky to be selected for the company’ s Future Talent programme, which is designed to accelerate the development of future leaders.
“ This led to a number of exciting projects alongside my day job. One was rebuilding a product demonstrator kit for a head-up display camera, resulting in a whirlwind three-day trip to Switzerland to show it to the customer.”
At BAE Systems, you’ ll get to work on exciting technology from day one, such as augmented reality displays, control sticks and flight-control computers for pilots. You’ ll see how this technology makes a difference to people in the real world and you’ ll benefit from working with the company’ s customers, partners and suppliers.
What’ s more, opportunities for career growth don’ t stop at the graduate and apprenticeship programmes. Those who perform well can access further development opportunities and, depending on the role, there may even be the chance for international travel and secondments. In addition, many of the company’ s senior leaders started out on an early careers programme.
As a BAE Systems employee, you’ ll have access to flexible working, a company contributed Share Incentive Plan and a competitive pension scheme, as well as an employee assistance programme, employee discounts and an enhanced annual leave allowance. You will also have access to social opportunities such as theatre trips, sports clubs and gaming clubs.
Applications for undergraduate and graduate roles will close once the positions have been filled, while apprenticeship applications close at the end of February 2026, so don’ t delay.
