LESHUTTLE BEGINS GROUNDBREAKING TERMINAL REDESIGN
LeShuttle has announced a transformation plan for its UK and French terminals, marking the beginning of a once-in-a-generation upgrade that will take place over the next five years.
Working with the acclaimed Hollaway Studio, who’ ll lead the architectural vision for the redesign, and delivered in collaboration with customer experience specialist Engine, the redevelopment aims to create a modern, seamless, efficient, sustainable and intuitive experience setting a new standard for LeShuttle customers.
Beginning with the reimagined check-in area and new sustainable canopy at the UK terminal, both passenger terminal buildings will also be
fully refurbished, ticketing will be transformed and new features introduced to deliver a calm, service-led environment that reflects the future of LeShuttle travel and supports their vision to move from a purely functional transport service to a more emotionally engaging and customercentric experience.
“ This is a significant moment for LeShuttle. We are setting ourselves up for the next 30 years by completely rethinking the arrival experience, focussing on ease, enjoyment and a greener future,” said Deborah Merrens, chief commercial officer at LeShuttle.“ The terminal is the first thing customers see and we want to switch them into holiday mode from the very first step.”
KENT PHOTOGRAPHER MAKES HISTORY AT THE WORLD’ S LARGEST PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION
Kent photographer Mike Taylor, from Deal, has snapped up first place in the‘ Street Photography’ category at the world’ s largest photography competition, the CEWE Photo Award- marking the UK’ s first winning entry since the contest launched.
His winning photograph, entitled The Beautiful Game, showcases the energy in the room during a tense football match between France and Argentina in the 2018 World Cup, and was the winning photograph from over 49,000 entries to the category. To mark his achievements, Mike has won a £ 4,340 photo equipment voucher and a £ 2,170 CEWE photo products voucher.
The CEWE Photo Award is an annual global photography competition that invites photographers of all levels to submit photos to showcase their work and talent. This year, the award was centred around the theme‘ Our World is Beautiful.’
“ Being named the category winner of Street Photography at the CEWE Photo Award and having my work commemorated on a global scale is truly an incredible feeling,” said Mike.
“ Before this photograph was taken, I’ d been struggling for a while to find my voice, so I made some big changes – giving myself a few rules and developing a process I could use out in the field. The Beautiful Game was the first image I captured that came from those changes, so it’ s an image that holds a special place in my heart.”
DREAMLAND ANNOUNCES FIRST HEADLINER FOR SUMMER 2026
Following a stellar lineup of sold-out music acts in 2025, Dreamland Margate has announced the first headlining act for 2026 that will play in the unique setting of its Scenic Stage.
Legendary multi-platinum artist David Gray, with special guests The Divine Comedy, will play one night only at the seaside venue on Friday 10 July 2026. This marks the first of many prolific artists and musicians to be announced for the summer season, with more details coming soon.
Best known for his landmark album White Ladder, Gray has spent three decades crafting a signature sound that fuses acoustic warmth with electronic innovation. Having played 68 sellout shows across the USA, Australia and UK, he shared:“ These have been some of the most memorable and magical shows of my entire career. When everyone is in such fine form, it would seem wrong to stop the ball from rolling, so with that in mind, I’ m delighted to announce a string of further dates for the summer of 2026. Exciting times!”
Songwriter and driving force behind The Divine Comedy, Neil Hannon has long been celebrated for his orchestral pop and intelligent lyrics, and last year led Charmed Life, The Best of the Divine Comedy to number five in the UK charts.
With David Gray and The Divine Comedy set to take to the stage, Dreamland Margate is already shaping up for another unforgettable summer, reinforcing its reputation as one of the most unique live music destinations.
