RADNOR HOUSE SEVENOAKS CHAMPIONS AMBITION ON AND OFF THE TRACK
At Radnor House Sevenoaks, we turn potential into achievement. Through a blend of academic excellence, character development and tailored pastoral care, we nurture each pupil’ s individual strengths and provide the foundations for success in every walk of life.
Whether a child is drawn to science, the art, sport- or in Year 7 student Max Endacott’ s case, the exhilarating world of motorsport- we create the environment where ambition is celebrated and individuality thrives.
This summer, Max made history as the youngest ever driver to podium at the prestigious Junior X30 British Karting Championships. Competing at speeds of over 80mph against some of the best young racers in the world, Max’ s success is a powerful example of what happens when determination meets a strong foundation of support. Here, he tells us a little more about how his experience at Radnor House has helped him pursue his passion.
Max, how did you first get into karting? My dad got me go-karting lessons for my sixth birthday. I passed the course and
I loved it. We started going to the track twice a week to practice, since I was too young to race at that point.
What do you enjoy most about racing? I just love driving. I love the high speeds and the adrenaline I get from racing the best drivers in the world.
Has karting helped you develop any skills you use in the classroom? Yes. I think the most important lesson being a racing driver has taught me from an early age is that sometimes when you do everything right and work hard, you might not get the results you hoped for. It teaches you to handle the disappointment and failures in life. The most important thing is to be positive, try again and never give up. To be the best, you can never quit and school has helped me build that mindset.
How has Radnor House supported you on your journey? The school really encourages me. My teachers are supportive and they help me stay on track with work. Radnor pushes me to aim high and do my best, not just in karting but in everything I do, and without the support of my school, I couldn’ t follow my passion for racing and get a good education.
What’ s next for you? In November, I’ ll be racing in the World Championships in Valencia. After that, I want to keep competing internationally until I turn 15, then hopefully start racing in F4. One day, I’ d love to drive in F1.
At Radnor House Sevenoaks, every child is known, valued and inspired to be the best version of themselves.
Join us for our Whole School Open Morning on Saturday 4 October from 9am to 1pm; come and discover how we celebrate the individual and prepare every pupil for success- wherever their journey begins.
