KEEPERS COTTAGES’ RAVENSCOURT, WHITSTABLE
PHOTOGRAPHY BY: NATHAN SHEPHERD PHOTOGRAPHY
Nestled on a quiet street in the heart of Whitstable, Ravenscourt is a beautifully restored Victorian terraced home, brought to life by owner and interior designer, Brooke. With elegant interiors and thoughtful touches throughout, the home is part of the coastal collection at Keepers Cottages- some of Kent’ s most charming coastal and countryside retreats.
Keepers, you have an incredible range of beautiful coastal holiday homes throughout Kent; what are the attributes you look for in a Keepers’ property? Is there something for everyone on your books? We look for homes that have real character, a strong sense of place and thoughtful design- whether it’ s a beachfront bolthole or a countryside hideaway. We want every guest to feel like they’ ve discovered something special, so we look for properties with personality, comfort and that unique‘ stay again’ feeling. There’ s truly something for everyone, from dog-friendly cottages to family-friendly stays and romantic getaways.
Keepers, what drew you to adding the wonderful Ravenscourt in Whitstable to your growing holiday home collection? Ravenscourt feels like home the moment you arrive. Brooke has layered the space with joyful colour, bold wallpapers and warm, tactile fabrics. The clever reconfiguration and extension bring light into every corner, making it an inviting space to relax with family and friends.

So, we looked for a characterful period property to buy where we could enjoy holiday time with our family and friends- with a view to it eventually becoming our permanent home. Key priorities were four bedrooms and plenty of social space downstairs – so it could accommodate two families sharing – as these were the kind of homes we had enjoyed renting with friends since having kids. We wanted a complete renovation project where we could create something that worked the way we wanted to live, also allowing us to express our style and personal taste.
What timeframe did you give yourselves to complete the project and did you manage to stick to it? We’ ve never completely renovated a property before so we were unsure what to expect! We completed the house purchase in February 2022 and it wasn’ t until Christmas 2023 that works were finished and we were able to stay there as a family.
