Hi, my name is Ellis and I love animals, big, small and even the creepy ones!
Every Saturday I attend Saturday Farmers at Curly’ s Farm- mum and I call it my happy place as I look forward to it all week. Our morning starts with checking on all the animals, feeding them and then cleaning them out, this can be messy but all in a day’ s work as a farmer!
My favourite animal is Betsy the goat, so I always make time for an extra special cuddle or a secret extra handful of food! Sometimes we take the alpacas for a stroll. There are lots at the farm but I know them all by name. One of my favourite jobs is collecting all the eggs. There are chickens, ducks and even turkeys at the farm. I have made lots of new farm friends. It’ s great to spend time with people who care for animals as much as me.
I love visiting the Kent County Show each year and for the past two years have been lucky enough to be part of the Curly’ s Young Farmers Team. It is an early start as it takes a lot of work to get all the animals show ready. It is so great to see the animals parading around the ring and even more special when they get awarded a rosette. Kent County Show 2025 is this month and there is always so much to see and do there. I can’ t wait to go along and meet all the animals, especially the goats!
