CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG
AT THE MARLOWE THEATRE

Afew weeks ago, my nanny and grandad treated me and my brother to a surprise trip to... drum roll please... The Marlowe to watch Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. I was like,“ OMG, I love the Marlowe, going there is the best.”

We walked along the streets of Canterbury by the river and could see the glimmering lights of Canterbury Cathedral, and behind the statue of Dave Lee the purple lights of the Marlowe, I was so excited!
It was swarming with people, my grandad got us drinks and chocolate and we got a booster seat for my brother because there were tall people in front of him.
As everybody piled into the theatre, the screen said, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, a couple of minutes later, all the lights began to dim and the narrator explained that the show was about to start. As everybody stopped rustling their crisps and sweets the show began, it started with an amazing song.
SCOTNEY CASTLE
The show was about an inventor and his kids being in a car and then it turns out it can fly. I loved all the costumes and the stage looked great. At the interval my grandad surprised us with icecream, I got caramel- delicious, then it was time for the second half. There were loads of great songs that all got stuck in my head. Then at the very end, the car flew into the audience and nobody knew how!
Finally, it was time for the big finale, everyone got on their feet and was clapping along to the music and then the red curtain fell down- it was amazing!
