“ This dining room boasts a wealth of earthy and warm timber features. To balance this, we injected lively blues and mustards through wallpaper, curtains and upholstery, and commissioned a trio of seascapes by Sussex-based artist Kitty McCurdy. Kitty drew inspiration from the moodboard of fabrics we curated and wove these tones into her calming oil paintings that connect with the natural world and truly bring the outside in.”

BIOPHILIC CONNECTION
With so much of our time spent in front of screens, our biological need for connection to nature has grown ever stronger. Biophilic design, in whatever format, continues its rise in interiors, offering a way out and some much-needed connection. Through artwork and visual elements inspired by the natural world, we can bring the outdoors in, feeding our need for calm, grounding and beauty within the spaces we inhabit. In whatever form it takes, consider colour and greenery for their calming qualities, whether through photographs, paintings, dried botanicals, tapestries or textiles to create a sanctuary that invites an sense of inner peace.
