How did you strike the balance between an excellent design-led refurb that also kept in budget? As always with any interior design, you know certain elements should command more of the budget to ensure longevity and comfort, while others you can be more creative with. One of the most special things for me is that all of the artwork displayed was handpainted by the owner; she has a great talent and I love the personal touch it brings to the spaces.

Did The Blue Pigeons require any bespoke elements? Yes, it did. In the restaurant we created a beautiful banquette seat to offer comfort and flexibility. We also commissioned bespoke units for the bedrooms that provide everything our guests need for a comfortable stay. One of the bespoke pieces I am most proud of is the design of the listed archway glass on the first floor. Brought to life by a local artist, my design encapsulates our core aesthetic in pattern and colour, and if our guests look closely they will find two pigeons nestled in the branches.
