Tartine is simply French for a slice of bread with a sweet or savoury topping . At breakfast , a tartine is often spread with butter and conserve , and dipped in hot chocolate or coffee . As the day moves towards brunch , try a savoury topping .
Ingredients :
Toasted fig & Roquefort :
• Bread - this gives the tartine its base , so opt for a good French bread that can support the toppings .
• Unsalted butter
• Bonne Maman Wild Blueberry Conserve
• Salty Roquefort
• Sliced fresh fig , toasted
Camembert and quail ’ s egg :
• Bread
• Unsalted butter
• Creamy Camembert cheese
• Wafer-Thin ham
• ½ soft-boiled quail ’ s egg
• Cress or fine asparagus
• Black pepper
Method :
1 . Lightly toast thin slices of your chosen bread - baguette , flute or ficelle are ideal .
2 . Spread your desired amount of butter and a generous amount of your chosen Bonne Maman conserve .
3 . Top with your chosen cheese .
4 . Add the rest of your toppings with plenty of tasty garnish for added texture , flavour and colour .
TOP TIP : You can replace the cheese with small soft-boiled eggs , roasted fruits or vegetables .

• Soft goat ’ s cheese
• Wafer-Thin slices of blood orange
• A few basil leaves
• Black pepper
