RAF Manston history museum is a registered charity supported by volunteers celebrating the history of the military and commercial airport since its formation in 1916 .
Alongside a fascinating pictorial history , we have complete aircraft on display including a Jaguar , Buccaneer , Lightning , Chipmunk , Jet Provost . Auster , Meteor , and a Wessex helicopter . Also look our cockpits and see the following , a Canberra , Buccaneer , Victor , Hunter , Tornado , and Nimrod .
We have regular events throughout the year including our open cockpit weekends , our skirmish through time ( re-enactors event ), car shows , ticketed paranormal events , and opportunities to meet Santa ! For some of these events our working fire engine and armoured personnel carrier are available for rides if the weather is favourable .
There are extensive free car parking spaces within the site that are situated alongside the museum on Manston Road using the taxiway and nearby grass areas .
Do not forget your ‘ cup of char and a slice of wad ’ in the welcoming NAAFI Café . We have a busy calendar of events and shows , please see our website and Facebook page .
The cost for adults is just £ 6 and just £ 3 for children , concessions and group tickets are also available . We recommend allocating two hours to fully enjoy the experience .
