NEW YEAR , NEW FLAVOUR WINNER ANNOUNCED BY FUDGE KITCHEN
More than the sugar was heating up in Fudge Kitchen ’ s Aylesham-based fudge factory in February as a panel of esteemed Kentish flavour judges , including iK ’ s editor Sam Ready , were tasked with choosing a brand new , ‘ never-seen-before ’ fudge to join Fudge Kitchen ’ s acclaimed lineup in its national shops .
This year ’ s brief , which was open to FK fudge makers across their national stores , was to ‘ create the most jaw-dropping , show-stopping fudge of 2025 !’ The challenge wasn ’ t just about flavour , it was about making fudge that ‘ grabs attention and steals the show ’.
Ready to taste 12 new flavours on criteria such as appearance , texture and of course flavour , prepared from the most local store in Canterbury all the way to York , alongside
Sam were Phil Harrison owner of Bears Ice Cream Imaginarium in Whitstable ; Jon Mills , director of Canterbury Brewers & Distillers and The Foundry Brew Pub ; Matt Trott , owner of Glass Fox Food Photography ; and Fudge Kitchen ’ s production site manager Arianne Langham , and fudge maker , Dan Twiddy .
Having tasted , re-tasted and been wowed by hits of orange soda , a curious and frankly delicious salted liquorice , and a marvellous baklava-inspired creation , it was the cherry white chocolate fudge that was crowned this year ’ s winner ! Praised by judges for its creamy texture , great cherry flavour and fabulously tempered white chocolate edge , lucky readers will be able to be wowed soon too , as the new flavour will be available in all Fudge Kitchen stores throughout the year .
