For 2025 , wedding entertainment is heading in a new direction as more couples swap photobooths for creative fun . From magicians and comedians to karaoke , there ’ s plenty of ways to give your guests something different on your big day .
“ Live wedding illustrators are proving popular , giving the happy couple and their guests personalised hand-painted portraits ,” explains Penny Hawes-Gatt , a luxury wedding planner who runs Kentbased Penelope Weddings . “ They make for wonderful keepsakes and a great alternative to table favours or photobooths .”
Hazy days
When it comes to photography , the focus has - quite literally - changed . For the year ahead , many couples are choosing to move away from still , posed shots and are asking their photographers to capture blurry motion snaps instead .
“ There has been a rise in a relatively new trend of delivering some purposely outof-focus or motion-blurred photos , which are supposed to evoke the impression of hastily taken candid shots or a high-end artistic feel ,” explains Matt Birchall , the Kent Wedding Awards ’ Kent Wedding Photographer of the Year 2023 / 24 . “ I ’ ve seen them used to good effect , but they have to be used sparingly and there has to be a definite ‘ feel ’ to the gallery as a whole , so that ’ s worth bearing in mind .”
Sweet style
For 2025 weddings there ’ s a couple of new cake trends you ’ re going to want to know about if you ’ re planning on confection perfection . The first is individual wedding cakes . With couples noting that cake often gets left at the end of the day , there ’ s been a movement towards each guest being presented with their own mini cake to eat on the day or to take home and indulge in after .
