BLACK STEEL DOORS

IN ASSOCIATION WITH POLYSMITHS

Black Steel Doors crafts premium steel and glass door and window solutions , combining durability , elegance and functionality to meet bespoke client needs . Their projects often include features such as fire resistance , soundproofing and minimalist aesthetics , earning trust from architects and homeowners alike .

This project exemplifies the seamless integration of contemporary design and engineering , requiring a bespoke approach to address unique architectural demands such as unconventional dimensions and spatial layouts .
The arches play a key role both aesthetically and functionally ; they introduce fluidity and lightness , create natural transitions and provide a timeless character to the interiors . Their construction eliminates the need for additional beams , enhancing material efficiency and reducing waste . Functionally , they maximise natural light , soften sharp lines and add balance and warmth .
By reflecting the growing appeal of classic-inspired elements , this project highlights Black Steel Doors ’ innovative ability to create living spaces that are as practical as they are beautiful .
Why were you chosen for the project ? We were chosen for our ability to rise to the unique challenges presented by this project , reaffirming our position as specialists in bespoke steel solutions . For this property , steel was the only material capable of meeting the requirements , including custom sizes and shapes . As shown in our images , arches have recently become a popular choice among our clients looking to enhance the aesthetic appeal of their properties . While other suppliers declined to take on the complexity of this project , our expertise and commitment to innovation made us the natural choice .
What was the door and window design objective ? The aim of the project was to create durable and visually striking steel doors and windows that would harmoniously complement the architectural integrity of the property . The goal was to deliver a solution that balances form and function , ensuring that the doors and windows are not only practical , but also enhance the aesthetic value of the space . For such a complex and bespoke project , the use of steel was a key element , providing the client with the additional assurance of years of reliable performance from our products .
How did you begin the redesign and refurbishment process for this bespoke project ? We started with a close partnership with the architects – Polysmiths – to thoroughly understand the structural and stylistic requirements of the project , which is essential in executing bespoke designs . We carried out detailed measurements and a comprehensive site assessment to ensure that every door in this project could be custom-designed and crafted to meet the specific needs .
What was your design / installation timeframe ? The project timeline was approximately three months and included the stages of design , production and installation . Despite the bespoke nature of the project , our optimised processes ensured deadlines were met without compromising on quality .
Were there any project pitfalls ? The biggest challenge was ensuring that the door installation was perfectly aligned with its designated position in the wall . An initial misalignment caused the doors to hit the upper frame when opened . However , this issue was swiftly resolved through an additional reinstallation service , which ensured their proper functionality .
