Church ceremony
• A church wedding ceremony in the UK will cost you a maximum of £ 675 if you choose to marry away from where you live , and a maximum of £ 567 if you marry in your home parish . This legal fee covers the costs of essentials including the vicar , the church and calling your banns . Banns are an announcement in church of your intention to marry and a chance for anyone to put forward a reason why the marriage may not lawfully take place .
• Lots of people marry in their own local church , but if you have a special connection to a church elsewhere then you may be able to marry there .
• Same-sex couples cannot legally marry in the Church of England .
Civil wedding ceremony
• A wedding or civil partnership can be held at any Approved Premises - a venue that holds a license from the local authority such as Kent County Council .

• If you ’ re marrying in Kent , typically prices range between £ 250 and £ 800 for a weekday ceremony and £ 300 and £ 900 over a weekend for Kent County Council to provide ceremonies at an Approved Premises . There are additional booking and legal preliminary fees to be considered too .
