NEW BAR AND COCKTAIL SCHOOL LAUNCHES IN KENT
The newest destination for cocktail education in the South East , Kent Bar & Cocktail School has officially launched at Bar Folklore in Folkestone , offering premier mixology , bartending and spirits education . Aiming to provide an engaging and hands-on learning experience for cocktail enthusiasts and aspiring bartenders , the school was founded by David Hamilton Boyd , a hospitality veteran with nearly three decades of experience in some of the UK ’ s best cocktail bars , pubs , music venues and events companies .
At the Kent Bar & Cocktail School , Boyd is aiming to create a welcoming environment that fosters creativity and skill development , with a dedication to sharing his expertise through practical courses that focus on the art and science of cocktail creation , spirits knowledge and the skills needed to succeed in hospitality . “ Our mission is to inspire the next generation of bartenders and elevate the standards of cocktail culture in the region ,” David said . “ We want to make top-tier cocktail , spirits and bar education accessible to everyone in Folkestone and the surrounding areas .”
MORE ACCOLADES FOR CANTERBURY ’ S COOK ’ S TALE RESTAURANT
Multi-award-winning The Cook ’ s Tale restaurant in Canterbury received an array of culinary accolades in December to add to its impressive collection . The Kentish restaurant , led by owner-chef Dev Biswal , was recently named by the British Indian Good Food Guide as one of the Top 100 Indian restaurants in the country . The Cook ’ s Tale also features in the new Good Curry Guide , who described the iconic Canterbury restaurant as , “ Much vaunted ... showcasing the best of the abundant sustainable , hyper-local local produce , with high levels of originality , flare and deft spicing .”
The recognition came in the midst of a busy festive period in the restaurant , where Biswal personally served a spectacular 20-course signature tasting menu at £ 350 a head . Showcasing much of Kent ’ s finest , sustainable local produce alongside rare and exotic ingredients including white truffle , Beluga caviar , and Koli Wada lobster , the three-hour dining experience took visitors on a mouthwatering culinary trip across the world , right from the heart of Canterbury .
