JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOUR DREAMCOAT

First released as a concept album in 1969 , Tim Rice ( lyrics ) and Andrew Lloyd Webber ’ s ( music ) stage version of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat has become one of the world ’ s most beloved family musicals .
Today , the multi-award-winning show , the duo ’ s first major musical theatre collaboration , has been performed hundreds of thousands of times - including multiple runs in the West End and on Broadway - with international tours in over 80 countries worldwide .
Featuring pop and musical theatre classics , including ‘ Any Dream Will Do ’, ‘ Close Every Door ’, ‘ There ’ s One More Angel in Heaven ’ and ‘ Go , Go , Go , Joseph ’, the iconic show will feature show alumni , Joe McElderry , who will be taking on the role of Pharoh in the production , having last performed as Joseph during an extensive 2017 / 2018 tour .
Joe first shot to fame in 2009 as the winner of The X Factor , making it into the UK charts with his debut album , Wide Awake . On stage , Joe has also played the titular role in The Who ’ s rock opera Tommy , as well as taking on a leading role in Club Tropicana : The Musical .
Joining Joe in Canterbury will be two-time Drama Desk award nominee , Christina Bianco , who made her West End debut starring in the Menier Chocolate Factory ’ s production of Forbidden Broadway at the Vaudeville Theatre . Taking the role of the Narrator , Christina has captured international acclaim as a YouTube sensation with her ‘ diva ’ impression videos gaining over 25 million views and more recently starred as Glinda in The Wizard of Oz at The London Palladium .
Taking the lead role of Joseph is Adam Filipe , whose credits include Titanic The Musical ( UK tour ), Prince Of Egypt ( original West End cast ) and Les Misérables ( Queens Theatre ). He was a vocalist for Lea Salonga : Stage , Screen & Everything in Between ( UK tour ) and Houdini in Side Show in Concert ( London Palladium ).
Tickets are available now from the box office , including for a special audiodescribed performance on Sunday 26 January . This special event for blind and partially sighted customers includes a free touch tour before the matinee performance , offering ticket holders the opportunity to immerse themselves in the world presented on stage by touching parts of the set , props and costumes .
