Spectacular property projects without the stress

How long do you imagine it will take to build an extension ? Six months ? Eight ? A lifetime ?
Home improvement specialist , Fineline works off a schedule of only one month from arrival on site to finished project . It seems incredible . How can it be done ?
We ’ d all love a dramatic extension to our home — enough extra space for a new kitchen or a stylish entertaining room . But who can put up with the tedious planning process , the red tape of building regulations and the difficulty of engaging reliable builders ?
As a homeowner , the odds are stacked against you ever doing anything substantial . Worse yet , the industry knows it . ‘ Making big changes to your home shouldn ’ t be a headache , but all too often it is ,’ says Peter Wheeler , MD of home improvement company , Fineline . ‘ We know that as soon as people settle on an idea they want it done — it ’ s only natural . The trouble is that as an industry we ’ ve not been good at responding to that .’
Any big change must take some effort , so are we asking too much or is it actually not that difficult after all ? Peter Wheeler believes it is the industry ’ s problem to solve . At Fineline he has orientated the whole business around its customers — streamlining processes , reducing waste and cutting out delays . ‘ I suppose I ’ ve got a bit of a mania for organisation ,’ Peter admits , ‘ and logistics is a big part of the solution , but so is having the right attitude . You need everyone — especially suppliers — to be committed to the same objective .’

Dramatic designs that once required architects and immense budgets can now be realised simply , affordably , and surprisingly quickly .
Well-engineered systems can achieve the improbable
While being focussed on the customer helps shorten the task , but there are some pretty impressive products that simplify the build itself .
Instead of having to go to an architect for a contemporary design , there are now well-engineered systems that can achieve a similar effect off the shelf . In the case of one , Ultraframe , its roofing systems are pre-approved for building regulations — so you can cut that step out for a start .
‘ Offering a a good choice of the best products on the market is just another facet of customer focus for us ,’ Peter Wheeler maintains . ‘ We ’ ve chosen to work with manufacturers whose investment in product design and development is widening the possibilities for our customers as well as making the whole project simpler . We know their systems and understand how to build them and they know our systems too , so together we ’ re really making a difference .’
For Fineline ’ s customers , that difference is tangible and not only on site . A new App lets everyone track the progress of the project from the moment the order is placed to its final commissioning . It also stores all the important information , drawings , plans , and correspondence so you have a complete record of everything on your phone or iPad .
