I love projects where the clients are keen to inject a big dose of colour and personality into their home . Playrooms are great for this , as you can really let your imagination run wild . Other highlights for me have been Wood House , and our recent Hildenborough project .
How do you incorporate sustainability practices into your designs ? We regularly use fabrics which have been made using recycled plastic bottles – and there are more and more innovative fabric options available now . We ’ ll always re-use linings and interlinings from curtains where we can , and we reuse all packaging . In our designs we ’ ll give consideration to the types of paints we recommend and look for low VOC options .
What ’ s the most common mistake people make when designing interiors , and how can it be avoided ? I think a rushed decision can often be a regrettable one , and now that we ’ re all being wowed by products on social media every day it ’ s too easy to make an impulse purchase . We often work with clients who admit they have bought something that on reflection wasn ’ t quite right … But on the flip side , we do love a challenge ! We will always come up with a creative solution and love including a client ’ s favourite piece of art or artefact .

What interior design trends can we expect to see emerge throughout 2025 ? Brown is back in a big way ! Pantone ’ s Colour of the Year for 2025 is Mocha Mousse , but we ’ re going to be seeing this beyond just paint form . Think terracotta , ceramics , patterned fabrics and tiles .
The colour-drenching trend has also been a huge success and is bound to continue , and maximalism ( think patternon-pattern ) is really allowing people to express themselves .
