Chocolate Delice

A chocolate delice is a wonderful festive indulgence - a rich , velvety dessert that serves up luxury on a plate . The decadent silky chocolate finish and crunchy biscuit base are sure to impress your guests . It ’ s also surprisingly quick and easy to make ; a lifesaver when festive meal prep can be so demanding . Whether you ’ re hosting a cosy winter dinner or a big festive feast , a chocolate delice brings both elegance and ease to your table . Best of all , it pairs beautifully with seasonal flavours like spiced oranges or a dollop of brandy cream , adding that extra sparkle to your festivities !
# KENTISH RECIPE
Ingredients :
• 140ml milk
• 330ml double cream
• 340g dark chocolate
• 1 egg
• Biscuit base ( 50 / 50 butter and Digestive or similar biscuit )
Method :
1 . Melt the chocolate and butter together , either in a double broiler or gently in the microwave .
2 . In a pan , heat the cream and milk together until it comes to a simmer , stirring constantly so it doesn ’ t scold . Once the milk starts to simmer , remove it from heat and pour it into the chocolate butter mix .
3 . Whisk the egg until the white and yolk are well combined , then stir into the melted chocolate and milk mix .
4 . For the biscuit base , crush the biscuits and combine with an equal amount of butter . Line a baking tray with parchment , then coat the bottom with the biscuit base mix .
5 . Pour the chocolate mix on top of the biscuit base . Allow to chill fully before cutting .
6 . Serve with brandy cream , spiced oranges or any other festive favourites .
