Ashford ’ s town centre will come alive with an array of fabulously festive entertainment as the annual Carnival of the Baubles prepares for another dazzling parade this November . Throughout the day there will be plenty of family-friendly workshops and events , before the evening arrives and fantastic community creations take to the town in a lantern light procession complete with a giant mechanical puppet , samba and drumming bands , plus lots more . Adding some festive light switch on pizazz to the end of Ashford ’ s spectacular Carnival of the Baubles parade , Elwick Place will be transformed into ‘ Elfwick Place ’ this winter with a range of festive food and drink , children ’ s craft activities , and , of course , the BIG Christmas Light Switch On .

In honour of Sir Winston Churchill ’ s 150th birthday , Chartwell will be holding an extra special Champagne Christmas where visitors can travel back in time to the sparkling 1930 ’ s festive season - with golden garlands , twinkling lights and a crackling winter fire alongside a glimpse into how Lady Clementine Churchill prepared for the Christmas season . Chartwell will also be holding a Chartwell Christmas Fair on selected dates , Christmas carols and a Festive Family Trail throughout the house and gardens .
